God answered…
I had one of the most awesome moments of my life this past Saturday, and I thought I would share it with you.
H and I are involved with a small ministry. We have a core group of people who pray, speak, help organize…you get the picture. We have had a few engagements this year, and this past weekend we were invited to participate in a “Renewal” Weekend at a local church. It was supposed to be a time for everyone who came to be encouraged in the Lord and to have their toes stepped on a little as well, I believe. Well, it did both for my family anyway.
Let me go back a little…
In April we had a weekend engagement where God just showed up so powerfully it was unreal. It was a thought provoking weekend which whet our appetite for more of God’s Word and more of Him. Our former choir director (fcd) came and led the worship time. After it was all finished, H (my dh) told me he needed to talk with the fcd because he felt like the Lord was leading him to become involved in the choir if fcd decided to start a community choir. Now you have to understand, I knew this was a God thing, because H has never even expressed the slightest interest in anything to do with a choir or singing.
Jump forward to August, fcd began choir practice for the community choir. H couldn’t wait to go. He has only missed 2 practices due to our vacation. This choir has really ministered to H and I.
And now to the point of this whole post…
H not only sang in the choir (more like a praise team at the moment), but he sang a solo!!!
I just stood in the audience with tears pouring down my face. God spoke to me while H was singing, and I thought I would share with you what He said.
“See what happens when you get out of the way, and let me work? If you will only be obedient to what I tell you to do, and leave the rest to me, I will give you blessings you never dreamed.”
So, as I sit here this morning, I just want to say, “Stay strong in the calling God has given you, and leave the rest to Him. Remember we have enough beams in our own eyes, we don’t need to be inspecting specks in others. As a matter of fact, if we try to ‘help’ others we may end up putting more in their eyes than there were before we started.”
Praying you all have a blessed day.
