What to do? What to do?…

Ever have those days when you know you should be doing way more than you are, but you just don’t care?

Guess how things are going here. Yep. One of those days. I am deep into my head-in-the-sand mode, and just not caring what gets done.

The grass needs to be cut. I need to balance my budget, and adjust a few things. Then there’s the ever present laundry and dishes. Oh, and don’t forget food. Um, let’s see what else. Oh yeah, chore charts, trash, and exercising. Ugh. I just don’t want to. I’m not the only one right? I just want to sit down and read, and disappear. I have a funny feeling though, it’s not going to happen. We’ll see.

Better yet, maybe I’ll take a nap. Hmmm, now that sounds like something I can do! But what do I do with all these kids? :)

A House Update…

Things have been crazy around here!

The Knight has been working on the upstairs. The drywall is up on the ceiling and three of the four walls are up. He is going to start work on the half bath next, and then we can finish with the last wall! I can’t believe how much he has done! I am so proud of him!

We’re pretty much finished with school. We are taking a little breather to get our bearings, and trying to get things ready for summer. I’m starting to go through things for a yard sale we’re having at B’s house. I think we’ll have a good turn out there. Last time only three of us did it there and we averaged over $120 each. This time we’re looking at having 5-6 families there, so if we advertise that I think we will really be busy!

My Mom and I have started walking at least once a day around the field here. We try to do at least two times around, but usually do more. I am enjoying spending the time with her. We’ve had some awesome conversations over the last few weeks.

We’re looking at getting some new/used beds for the Princess and the Professor. Hopefully we will be able to do that in the not too distant future.

I have begun using some of the organizational sheets from Donna Young. They have been a Godsend! The kids are doing better with their chores, and it helps me keep track of what everyone has done so I can keep allowances straight. (We pay based on 3 criteria. How many chores did you do? How much, if any did I have to remind you? Did you have a good attitude about your work?) It ’s working pretty good overall. It’s taking a little bit of getting used to, but I think they are starting to get the correlation between work and money. We’ll see…
