Bustling about…
Wow! Its hard to believe it’s almost Thanksgiving! Where has the time gone?!
Autumn has been a whirlwind of activities around here. We have had so much going on. Our trip to Knoxville was wonderful. The weekend retreat at the beach was just what we needed. We’ve had some wonderful bible studies to go to, and we’re still working on the upstairs, and the chicken coop.
Uneventful, is not how I would describe things around here, that’s for sure.
I’m looking forward to next week when we can gather with the extended family and catch-up on what’s been happening with everyone. I’m also looking forward to our family Thanksgiving dinner next Sunday. Last year I started a new tradition for us, where everyone comes to our house the Sunday after Thanksgiving and I fix dinner. I plan on ham since everyone is sick of Turkey by then. It’s a nice tradition for us, as the kids get older. That way when they have families of their own, hopefully, it won’t be so chaotic for them on Thanksgiving like it is for us, now.
I’m also excited that we get to have dinner again at my Mom and Dad’s house Thursday evening. We haven’t gotten to do that in the last few years, so it will be nice to go over there that evening and just let the kids unwind.
The Princess is doing another Christmas program this year. We’re busy with rehearsals for her, her show is the first weekend of December and then again on the second Sunday of the month. The kids and the adults will be performing that morning and the kids will also be singing that evening.
I think it will be a bittersweet time for us that last day. It will be her final program at our current church. The next Sunday we will begin visiting for another church home.
A lot has happened in the last few years, and especially in the last few months to bring us to this point, but suffice it to say, God has finally spoken clearly to us on this matter. We know beyond a shadow of a doubt what He is telling us, and we have no choice but to obey. We’re thankful for everything God has shown us and taught during our time there. We are indebted to the strong teachers who poured God’s Word into our thirsty souls, and now we know it’s time to move on to the next part of the journey.
Can’t wait to see what’s just around the bend…
